This guide is an introduction to to the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR).

About ICPSR

Founded in 1962, The Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) is an international consortium of 759 academic and research organizations. ICPSR maintains a data archive of hundreds of thousands of political and social science research data files on a variety of subjects ranging from education to terrorism to gerontology.

In addition to providing access to these research data, ICPSR is a leader in the research data community providing training in issues of research data management, data analysis, social science research methods, and data access and data curation.

Accessing ICPSR Data

The University of Oregon is an ICPSR member institution. As a member, UO Faculty, Students, and Staff have access to the majority of the data made available in the data archive. Users should make a My Data account. Accounts should be created either on campus or while using the VPN
