Dr. Nicholas Kohler of the UO Department of Geography holds office hours in SSIL for the lab courses in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, and Spatial Data Science.  This is done in support of the students’ primary course instructor(s) and course GE(s).

Dr. Kohler can also advise UO faculty, students, and researchers conducting research in GIS, cartography, spatial data science, and geospatial analysis. Contact him:

Spatial Data Science (GIS, Remote Sensing,…) Consulting Hours

Please email Nick for assistance outside of times listed below, and also to meet in a video chat by zoom or teams. The SSIL Labs will be open during normal office hours, and the same software and access to data is available in the UO libraries. This software can also be accessed using the online virtual UO Open Lab

  • Mondays: 10:30-11:30am and 12:30-1:30pm
  • Tuesdays: 9:30-11am
  • Wednesdays: by appointment
  • Thursdays: 9:00-10:00am
  • Fridays: by appointment
